If you’re a leader who wants to lift the women around you up, there are lots of big things you could try.
You could try to offer child care support (but that’s a huge logistical challenge, as this well-meaning CEO discovered).
You could offer some kind of diversity and inclusion training (though research suggests most such training is either useless or actually backfires).
You could make a big show about being an ally to women on social media. But really, who is that helping more, your team or your ego?
Or instead, you could do small, everyday things that are much easier, and often much more effective. It’s an approach called microfeminism, and it just got the support of billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates.
