Training and Support for Candidates
If you are considering running for office, there are many resources available to you. To successfully run for office, candidates need money, mentoring, and a strong team.
That team is one of the most important resources for a candidate. It may consist of both paid consultants and volunteers. It’s important that candidates have options to choose from so they can find the best fit for their campaign.
Training programs that teach the nuts and bolts of campaigns, fundraising practices, public speaking practices, media skills, and voter contact methods are also a crucial resource that help build your political network. These programs may or may not be partisan, and may or may not coach candidates on issues. Whatever your needs are, chances are there’s a program for you.
Until the Covid-19 pandemic is over, these programs will likely be virtual. Beginning in January 2021, we are launching events and trainings in collaboration with partners such as All In Together, the Center for American Women in Politics, The Wall Street Journal, and more. We’re also launching a monthly podcast, continuing our book clubs, and strengthening our Circles of Women — geographically and professionally based women that are developing broader ways for women to interact and become a part of the democratic process.
SC Women in Leadership is invested in filling the pipeline with leaders, such as those in our Circles of Women, who are ready to serve their communities and build skills for future opportunities.
