How it Works

If you are interested in serving on a state board or commission, please begin by reviewing our database of current and upcoming vacancies.  Each position is categorized to help you easily find positions that fit your area of expertise.  Please keep in mind your areas of interest that may not be reflected on your resume; many boards and commissions have roles for public members that are unaffiliated with the applicable industries.

Next, complete our confidential online application form and attach your resume.  If there are any particular boards or commissions for which you wish to be considered, please specify them on the application form.  SC WIL will then review your application to match with suitable open positions. In terms of issues, there is no litmus test.

Each month, we will forward the confidential resumes of women that appear to have the necessary experience and education to the Governor’s office for consideration.  SC WIL will notify you if/when your application of interest is delivered to the Governor’s office. If Governor McMaster is interested in pursuing appointment, his staff will contact you directly.  At any point in the process, you may contact us at for guidance.
