The window to file for school board, county council, and the 800+ open seats in South Carolina opens at noon March 16, 2022 and closes at noon on March 30, 2022. It is crucial that candidates read the fine print on filing documents and maintain precise financial records. Has jurisdiction over marriage licenses, estates of deceased persons, guardianships of incompetents, conservatorships of estates of minors and incompetents, minor settlements under $25,000 and involuntary commitments to institutions for mentally ill and/or chemically dependent persons. They also have exclusive jurisdiction over trusts and concurrent jurisdiction with Circuit Courts over powers of attorney.
