Lead Like a Woman Circle October

October 3, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

You’re invited to join the Lead Like a Woman Circle to explore the many facets of female leadership.

Our ‘lunch and learn’ style Circle meets virtually on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 12 PM.

We’ll delve into what female leadership looks like, hear from women in power about what female leaders need to thrive, and how we can be allies. We will discuss how to lead like a woman, role models to learn from, where to get started, and why female leaders are more important now than ever.

This month, our guest speaker is Laura Smith.

Join us to help define what it means to Lead Like a Woman!

About the speaker:

Laura Elizabeth has enjoyed a well-established business career in multiple industries as well as a rich family life that, many years ago, took her to Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, for the first time. Together, the family embraced the wonder, the pull that they only found in this special place. They returned again and again to rediscover the island’s magic, to walk along its shores with their dogs, explore, treasure hunt and make family memories. As one of the Atlantic coastal islands, Daufuskie has been marked by centuries of American history and was made famous by novelist Pat Conroy’s memoir The Water Is Wide in which he imagined the island in his unique way.

In 2020, Laura began a quiet campaign to connect individuals who she believed might be able to help the island with some large restoration and development projects. From this work Laura was able to share her passion for Daufuskie and introduce this special place to people all around the world.  Several of these contacts, along with her family, encouraged her in this endeavor we now call The Island Mysteries.  She would like to introduce you to Mongin Island, the home of her book All Is Now Lost.
