A Conversation about Race and Gender Diversity – May 25th & 26th

May 26, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm

Hosted by SC WIL

Join women from all over the state to talk about race and gender diversity. We’ll talk about the big issues so you can share your story, learn from others, celebrate the progress made by trailblazers before us, and empower each other to tackle the disparities that remain. Plus we’ll make an exciting announcement about our Circles of Women!  This event is also available on May 25th.

Meet the event facilitators:

Anita Garrett is a SC WIL board member, journalist, and Chief Strategy Officer at the Weathers Group. She founded Women Engaged, an intergenerational group of African-American women leveraging their collective work, wealth, and wisdom to serve communities across South Carolina.

Val Littlefield is an Associate Professor of African American studies at USC and the author of South Carolina Women: Their Lives and Times and 101 Women Who Shaped South Carolina. She is also a lead historian for the Teach American History Project and the Director of Community Engagement and Service Learning and co-chair of the Presidential Commission on University History at USC.
