Laura Allen

Laura Allen has served as Executive Director of the Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas (CCP) since 2014. CCP is a non-profit that ensures access to lifesaving treatment for over 2400 children throughout the Carolinas who are battling childhood cancer. She has over 30 years of corporate and non-profit executive experience, along with knowledge gained from numerous non-profit volunteer leadership roles.

Laura attended Dean College and Boston University before jumping into High Tech and International Sales and Marketing. She has served in fundraising executive roles with Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Centerstone Mental Health of Tennessee, and the American Red Cross.

She is a recipient of the Order of the Palmetto and a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg, Spartanburg Regional Fellows, and the Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative.

Laura is Past President of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Board and is a founding member of the virtual and regional Childhood Cancer Optimist Club. She served on the Boards of the Girl Scouts Mountains to Midlands, Junior League of Spartanburg, and the advisory board of United Way of the Piedmont’s Women United. Laura is a member of Downtown Rotary Club of Spartanburg and Women Giving Spartanburg.

While living previously in Tennessee, Laura served on the boards of Nashville Ballet, Rape & Sexual Abuse Center, Historic Brentwood, Friends of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Junior League of Nashville, and Belle Meade Mansion and chaired several large fundraising events.

Laura is married to Roger Sullivan, she has three grown children, two grandchildren ages 6 and 15 months. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, college basketball, reading, biking, exercise, and her two shelter dogs, Oscar and Felix.

South Carolina Women in Leadership (SC WIL) empowers women to take on public leadership roles by providing them with the training, connections, and resources they need to succeed. Our goal is to create a political landscape that reflects the diversity of our communities, emphasizing collaboration, integrity, and respectful communication. SC WIL engages a wide range of stakeholders and cultivates partnerships to break down barriers for women in leadership. Through our programs like online and in-person training for elected and appointed office and substantive resources, SC WIL not only prepares women for office, but also highlights the positive impact of diverse leadership. SC WIL is committed to fostering an inclusive, multi-partisan environment that champions ethical leadership and civil discourse.
