Meghan Smith is the City Council representative for District 1 (the Westside) in the City of Spartanburg. She led City Council efforts toward the unanimous adoption of the resolution, “Healing, Reconciling, and Unity: A Pathway to a More Equitable Spartanburg” the only such municipal resolution in South Carolina and helped lead recent gun buyback efforts. Meghan also serves as the Director of College and Career Readiness at the Spartanburg Academic Movement. Meghan earned her Bachelor’s degree from Samford University and her Master’s from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She has four sons who keep her quite busy.
